Voice channels
A voice channel is how calls reach Live Hub. You need at least one before a bot can answer a call, and you can combine several channels in one account.
Whichever you choose, the channel on its own does nothing until a routing rule connects it to a bot connection.
Choose a channel
Each channel type suits a different deployment:
| Channel | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Phone numbers | you want AudioCodes to provide the phone number. This is the quickest way to get a working phone number. See also supported countries. |
| SIP connections | you already have a SIP trunk, PBX, or contact center to connect. Pre-integrated vendors are listed in the interop guides. |
| WhatsApp numbers | you want calls over WhatsApp |
| Microsoft Teams | you want Live Hub to carry voice for a Teams tenant |
| Click-to-call (WebRTC) | you want calls started from a button in your own web page or mobile application, over WebRTC |
In the portal, the first four appear under the Voice channels menu. Click-to-call does not appear there: you create it as a SIP connection whose provider type is Client Applications.
